Each and every piece of Abbott Design Studios ceramics is hand-painted with cone-fire .06 glaze
which is non-toxic and food safe. This means that hours were spent lovingly applying glaze to the
bisque (hard-fired clay) before firing a minimum of three times per piece. Tiny flaws and imperfections
are normal, as is a slight running of the glaze.  Because each piece is a work of art, it should be treated
as such. To keep the piece an heirloom to be handed down to your favorite progeny, it is wise not to
leave flower water in a vase unchanged for a month for scale build-up to accrue. Even so, it is unusual
for the inside to become discolored. If this should happen, make a 1/3 hot water, 1/3 vinegar,
1/3 baking soda solution and pour into the vase and allow to soak for a few hours. This should remove
the scale. It is not wise to scour with any abrasive powder or pad.

Dinnerware is dishwasher safe, as long as you are extra careful loading to avoid chipping. It is best to
soak in hot, soapy water for a short time before washing gently. We hope you treat your Abbott Design
Studios purchases with as much loving care as we used in creating them.

All dinnerware is microwave safe. As a matter of fact, after three minutes of "nuking," cup handles are
usually still cool to the touch (although the liquid inside will be extremely hot!) and bowls seem to get hot
only towards the very bottom.

We do not use any lead-based products for our own health safety as well as yours.

If you have any questions or concerns about our products, please do not hesitate to call or email.
We appreciate any feed-back and want you to love your purchases for years to come, and for you to
come back over and over and build a large collection of Abbott Design Studios ceramics.
